Shorebreak – a reminder of the ocean’s balance of beauty and power; a never-ending dance of pure elegance and raw energy.
This photo was taken at Wharton Beach in Esperance, Western Australia. We would spend hours watching these waves, waiting for the tide and swell to be just right enough for a paddle out. When it worked, boy was it fun. A perfectly peeling left hander that, if you didn’t pull off the wave early enough, ended in this hectic shore break, right on shallow sand.
A true reminder that while the sea can be our favourite playground, it is a force to be reckoned with.
